Covid-19 cases rise to 766 in Gujarat

In Gujarat, the total number of Covid-19 cases rose to 766 yesterday. 46 new cases were reported from Ahmedabad, seven from Aanand, six from Rajkot and five from Vadodara among others. Total cases in Ahmedabad have gone up to 450.
 
Looking at the increasing number of cases in Ahmedabad, Country’s largest Coronavirus care facility has been set up in the city. The facility which has been created in the hostel campus of Gujarat University will ease the load of the rising number of patients on government hospitals. 

Considering the rising number of Covid 19 cases in the city, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has readied the country’s largest Covid 19 Care Centre which has a capacity to accommodate 2000 patients.



The patients who are not suffering from any underlying health issues will be transferred to the Centre. The centre is equipped with a library, Yoga and indoor game facility for the patients.
 
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vijay Nehra said each patient admitted at the centre will be provided with the separate kit for personal care. He said Medical teams will examine the patients twice a day and they will bestationed in the centre only. Mr Nehra added that the teams will also be tested every 14 days for the infection. Meanwhile, AMC has also started intensive checking of sanitation workers, homeless and construction labourers to check the spread of the coronavirus.
