In Odisha, total number of COVID-19 cases has crossed 90,000 mark while the death toll has mounted to 448. A record 3,384 people were detected positive in past 24 hours taking the tally to ninety thousand nine hundred and eighty six. With the recovery of 2510 people, the total number of recoveries has risen to 65,323.
Amid the spike in covid-19 cases the state had its sixth plasma bank at saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and hospital in
the tribal dominated Koraput district. Inaugurating it through virtual mode yesterday, chief minister Naveen Patnaik said that with this, people from all parts of the state would now have access to the advantage of plasma therapy which he said was critical in saving lives. Meanwhile, the state's fatality rate has further slumped from 0.56 % on the 2nd of this month down to 0.49% as on Wednesday.
