COVID-19 Impact: PM Modi urges every Indian to avoid leaving home unless needed, especially for senior citizens

In his address to the nation, PM Modi said that social distancing is a crucial and effective method to ensure that deadly novel coronavirus is contained. Do not leave home unless absolutely needed, PM said.

"Restrain is compulsory to



protect ourselves and remain healthy. I request that for the coming weeks people should go out of their homes only if essential," he said.

The PM especially urged people above the age of 60 to not venture out of their homes for the next few weeks.
