He added that all the 1,150 travellers who were sent to Gachibowli Quarantine center were allowed to leave as none of them were found to have Corona symptoms. He said that the number persons who have been kept under surveillance might rise to 20,000 with each passing day bringing more and more suspected cases from other states and countries.
He said that teams of Police and Municipal authorities are going
house to house in the areas where suspects were reportedly stayed and are keeping a tab on their health condition on day to day basis.
Regarding steps taken in Karimnagar, the Chief Secretary said that steps have been initiated as per the Containment Strategy of the Union Government. “There was house to House fever survey. Those who were found with fever were sent to isolation, but no case with Corona infection was found in the target areas,” he said.
The Chief Secretary said that the Janata Curfew called by the Prime Minister and further extended by the Chief Minister has been a great success all over the state. “People have voluntarily participated in the curfew, stayed indoors and clapped appreciating the services of the Paramedics, Doctors , Police and all those involved in containing the spread of the virus,” he said. He added that the success of the Janata Curfew has given confidence to the authorities that a lock down if imposed in the State will be successful too.
