In Karnataka the total number of Covid-19 positive cases crossed three lakh mark as 8,580 new cases were registered in the State yesterday. With this the total number of positive cases stands at 3,00,406 in the State. Bengaluru registered the highest number of 3,284 cases followed by Mysuru 951 and Ballari with 510 cases.
On the other hand the death toll also crossed 5000 mark with 133 deaths reported yesterday. The total number of fatalities has risen to 5,091. A record number of 67,066 covid tests were conducted in the State taking the total number of tests to 25,80,621. As many as 7,249 patients recovered and were discharged from various
hospitals in the State yesterday and taking the total discharges to 2,11,688. The recovery rate has also risen to 70.47 percent.
Out of the total number of 83,608 active cases, 760 patients are admitted in intensive care units of different hospitals in the State. Meanwhile Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa inaugurated the Broadway super speciality covid hospital in Bengaluru yesterday. Built with the financial help from Infosys foundation, this new 200 bed Covid hospital is equipped with all essential medical infrastructure worth Rupees10.25 crores, will be used to treat the covid patients.
