Covid-19 Recoveries in the country cross 19 lakh mark

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 26 lakh 47 thousand 664. The Health Ministry said there has been a spike of 57 thousand 982 cases and 941 deaths were reported in India in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stand at 6 lakh 76 thousand 900. India has reported the highest single day recoveries of 57,584. The overall recovery rate from Covid -19 has crossed 72 per cent. 

The recoveries surged to 19 lakh 19 thousand 8 hundred 42. The death toll due to coronavirus infection climbed to 50 thousand 9



hundred 21. The case fatality rate has declined to 1.92 per cent.  

India has set a new landmark of conducting three crore Covid tests. The Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said, expanded diagnostic lab network and facilitation for easy testing across the country have given a substantial boost.

     

During the last 24 hours, more than seven lakh 31 thousand tests have been conducted. The Ministry said, India is on its resolved drive to increase its testing.
