India has achieved the landmark of over 60 lakh recoveries from COVID-19 infection.
The Health Ministry said that this has also sustained India's leading position globally as the country with maximum recovered cases.
The top five States, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, with maximum caseload are also contributing more than half of the total recoveries.
The Ministry said that the country's COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 86.17 per cent.
More than 89 thousand people have recovered from COVID-19 during the last 24 hours.
The total number of recoveries has reached over 60.77
lakh.
Presently, the total number of active cases in the country is 8.67 lakh.
Currently, India’s Case Fatality Rate is at 1.54 per cent, which is one of the lowest globally.
In the last 24 hours, 74,383 new cases have been reported in the country taking the total number of positive cases to over 70 lakh.
918 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours taking the toll to 1,08,334.
According to Indian Council of Medical Research, more than 10.78 lakh tests were conducted during the last 24 hours.
The total number of samples tested so far has reached 8.68 crore
