Maharashtra Health department has informed that 7,861 squads have completed surveillance of 32.28 lakh population in 572 active containment zones across state. A total of 1,45,677 people currently in home quarantine across the state while 9,399 others in institutional quarantine.
 
With 522 new positive cases in state, the total number of corona cases has gone up to 8590 of which 1282 patients have been discharged and 6939 are active cases.
 
Over 1.20 lakh people have been tested for novel corona virus in state of which results of 1.12 lakh people have come negative whereas 8,590 are positive.
 
Mumbai alone in last 24 hours reported 395 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of the



infected patients in the country's financial capital to 5,589. The city also reported 15 new fatalities taking the death toll so far to 219.
 
The number of the people recovered from the viral infection increased by 118 to 1,015. Among the 395 new cases, Dharavi, a covid19 hotspot, reported 13 coronavirus positive patients, taking the tally in the slum- dominated area to 288.
 
The BMC informed that it was planning to start a 1200-bed Dedicated Corona Health Centre (DCHC) at Nesco Ground in Goregaon (E) with the help of a private company and Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry CREDAI. In this facility, 1000 beds will be equipped with oxygen support.
