In Tamil Nadu, the total COVID-19 infection has risen to three lakh eighty five thousand with 5,967 people infected yesterday. Meanwhile, the state-run medical university and the AYUSH Department have inked an agreement to hold joint research in medicine.

The SARSCoV2 may be a novel virus. To tackle the global menace, it needs strategies, both old and new, and may be, even a combination of both. Across the world, researches are going on at a frenetic pace, to develop vaccines on the one hand and medicines against the virus on the other.

The

approaches in the researches are highly diverse. One such initiative is the joining together of the state-run Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University in Chennai and the AYUSH Department. They entered into an agreement yesterday to find solutions in the ongoing battle against the Novel Coronavirus. It is to find ways of having a fusion between Allopathy and the tens of hundreds of years old Siddha, not just against the pandemic but also against the overall health challenges. The synergy may hold promises for a holistic solution to various health issues.
