Death toll due to Coronavirus in J&K rises to 8

With one more Covid-19 fatality, the death toll due to Corona Virus in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has rises to 8. A Covid-19 patient died at Chest diseases hospital, Srinagar yesterday. However, the toll of Positive Covid-19 cases in the UT has claimed to 565, as 19 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus, all from Kashmir division have been reported yesterday.

 

Out of 565 positive cases, 381 are active positive and 176 have recovered. Furthermore, till date 68, 262 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for



surveillance which include 6364 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 255 in Hospital Quarantine, 381 in hospital isolation and 9082 under home surveillance.

 

Besides, 52,172 persons have completed their surveillance period. Moreover, 12 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 01 from Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and 11 from Chest Disease Hospital, Jammu. Till yesterday 16,619 test results are available out of which 16, 054 samples have tested as negative.
