In Gujarat, the total number of Covid 19 cases has gone up to 1743 with 139 new cases reported yesterday. 99 new cases reported from Ahmedabad, while 22 cases recorded in Surat. Now, the total positive cases in Ahmedabad have gone up to 1101. According to state health department, 5 more persons died yesterday taking the total death toll due to COVID19 on 63.
 
At the one hand Government is trying to control the COVID19 pandemic in the cities like Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara, the economic activities also set to gear up in the rural areas of the state from today.
 
Gujarat government has formulated rules and regulations to gear-up economic activities in the rural areas, which was standstill since the implementation of lock-down.
 
According to this, industrial units out-side the Municipal and Nagarpalika’s limit can start functioning from today in one shift of maximum 12



hours. Wages would be hiked according to the working hours of workers. They should get half an hour break after working of 6 hours.
 
Such industrial units cannot hire female workers or employees after 7 pm. It has been also decided to regularize the working of all government offices with 33 percent staff of class 3 and 4 from today. Meanwhile, after the opening of agriculture marketing yards from last Wednesday, the farmers had sold about 70 thousand quintal grains in last 3 days.
 
Government has also announced that process of direct bank transfer of rupees one thousand for the month of April would be initiated in tribal districts. 66 lakh card holders in six tribal districts Chhota-Udepur, Panchmahal, Dahod, Sabarkantha, Arrvali and Mahisagar- who are getting food grains under the National Food Security Act will get this benefit from today.
