Gujarat reports 1,009 new Covid-19 cases on Monday

In Gujarat, 974 COVID-19 patients were discharged from various hospitals after recovery during the last 24 hours as the recovery rate further improved to 73.53 per cent. A total of 47,561 patients have been recovered in the state till date. 

According to official sources, 1,009 new cases have been reported in the state yesterday. Maximum 198 new cases reported from Surat, while Ahmedabad recorded 139 new cases. Total cases in the state have gone up to 64,684. Out of 14,614 active cases in the state, the condition of 83 patients is serious and they are on ventilator



support.

 

22 patients lost their lives yesterday, taking the total deaths due to COVID-19 in the state up to 2,509. More than eight lakh 34 thousand tests have been carried out in the state till date, out of which 19,769 tests have been carried out yesterday. 

Meanwhile, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has added four more areas in the Micro Containment Zone. Door to door surveillance and testing drive will be launched in these areas from today. AMC has also sealed citi’s Alfa mall for violating the norms of social distancing.
