In Gujarat, a total of 1,730 COVID-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours. The State also reported four deaths yesterday. The recovery count in the state rose by 1,255 yesterday to reach 2 lakh 77 thousand 603. About 2 lakh 25 thousand 555 people were vaccinated in the state against Covid 19 yesterday.
The state continues to report spike in covid 19 cases. Yesterday, it was the highest single-day count since the pandemic began. In new cases, Surat led with 577, followed by Ahmedabad with 509, Vadodara with 162 and Rajkot with 140 cases.
According to State health department, the active caseload in the state is now 8,318, of which 76 are on ventilator support.
Recovery count is also rising. So far over 2,77,000, patients have been discharged in the state after recovery. More than 41 lakhs people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 so far. Amid the surge of Covid cases, government has decided to close offline classes in all the ITIs in the state till 10th April. The government has also made RTPCR test mandatory for entry from Maharashtra.
