Import of Ventilators, masks, Covid-19 test kits exempted from basic customs duty

Government has granted exemption from Basic Customs Duty and Health cess, on the import of Ventilators, Face masks, surgical Masks, Personal protection equipment and Covid-19 test kits. 

Finance Ministry has said that this basic customs duty



exemption will be available upto the 30th September this year. The government has taken the decision in the context of Covid-19 situation and considering the immediate requirement of ventilators and other items.
