New Delhi: India’s Cumulative COVID Vaccination Coverage has crossed the 50 crore mark. The cumulative figure stands at 50 crores 3 lakh 48 thousand and 866. Health Ministry said the new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from 21st June and more than 43.29 lakh Vaccine Doses have been administered yesterday.
The Ministry said that more than 22 lakh 93 thousand vaccine doses were administered as first dose and 4 lakh 32 thousand vaccine doses given as the second dose in the age group of 18 to 44 years yesterday.
Cumulatively, over 17 crores 23 lakh persons in the age group of 18 to 44 years across 37 States and UTs have received their first dose and over one crore 12 lakh received their second dose since the start of Phase-3 of the vaccination drive. Five states namely Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have
administered more than one crore cumulative doses of COVID-19 Vaccine in the age group of 18 to 44 years.
Also, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Bengal have vaccinated more than 10 lakh beneficiaries of the age group of 18 to 44 years for the first dose of COVID vaccine.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that India’s fight against COVID-19 has received a strong impetus and vaccination numbers have crossed the 50 crore mark. In a tweet, Mr Modi has expressed hope to build on these numbers and ensure that citizens are vaccinated under Sabko Vaccine Muft Vaccine movement.
Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has congratulated all the people and thanked the healthcare workers over this achievement.
