India logs 774 new Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths

India reported 774 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths, while the active caseload further dipped to 4,187 from 4,334 the previous day, the Union Health Ministry said on Saturday.

Two fatalities -- one each from Tamil Nadu and Gujarat -- were recorded in the past 24 hours, pushing the total death toll to



5,33,387, the data updated at 8 am stated. Of the 4,187 active cases, the majority (over 92 per cent) were recovering under home isolation.

As many as 919 people recuperated from Covid-19 in a span of 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 4.44 crore (4,44,79,804), the health ministry said.
