India's Case Fatality Rate lowest in world: Union Health Secretary

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has said that India's Case Fatality Rate, CFR is amongst the lowest in the world.

He said, at present India's CFR is 1.45 per cent, whereas globally it is 2.26 per cent.

Mr Bhushan said, India's recovery rate has crossed 95 per cent.

He said, a Multi-Level Governance Mechanism have been set up in the nation to monitor the work related to COVID19 vaccination.

He added that  23 Ministries and



Departments of Government and States have been identified and assigned roles for vaccine-roll out.

The Health Secretary said, guidelines for estimation of electrical and non-electrical cold chain equipment and their strengthening has been issued.

He said, 29 thousand cold chain points, 240 walk-in coolers, 70 walk-in freezers, 45 thousand ice-lined refrigerators, 41 thousand deep freezers and 300 solar refrigerators to be used.
