The coronavirus infection continued to rage through Jharkhand, with the state registering 171 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the overall tally to 3,358.
The recovery rate in the state stands at 65 percent. Meanwhile, 40 people have recovered and were discharged in the last 24 hours. With this a total of 2,210 people have been cured from COVID-19 so far.
The active caseload including those in hospitals and isolation centres presently stands at 1125. So far, 1,67, 650 samples have been tested in the state.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren has requested railways to cancel two special trains Ranchi-Patna Intercity express and TATA- Danapur express coming from Bihar to Ranchi and Jamshedpur
respectively, to prevent the spread of COVID19 infection coming from the neighbouring states. Railways have accepted the request and trains have been cancelled with effect from July 13.
With more than 550 new Corona positive cases detected this week, the bordering districts with neighbouring states of Bihar and West Bengal have been ed by the state government. Special instructions to DCs for manning the borders with neighbouring states have been issued, while entry in the state without an e-pass has been completely restricted.
Six districts with maximum spread of infection have enforced article 144 and night curfew timings have been changed from evening 9 pm to morning 6 am.
