In Jharkhand, 16 new positive cases were reported from nine districts of the state. So far, 20 districts out of 24 in the state have been affected with the Corona Virus infection. The total number of cases detected in the state has gone up to 248. 127 people have been cured from the disease and have been discharged from hospitals. While only 3 people have succumbed to death due to the viral infection, hence keeping the mortality rate as low to 1.20 percent in Jharkhand, the recovery rate of patients is also as high as 51.20 percent. Out of the reported cases, 97 positive cases have been detected in migrant labourers who have returned from other Corona hit states.
Meanwhile, the state government is mulling to open most of the shops by May 31 in a phased manner. In a meeting with the
representatives of Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) late night yesterday, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has assured the businessmen to resurrect the economic activities in the state very soon.
Deputy Commissioners of all districts have been directed to open shops as per Lockdown phase four guidelines and activities permitted in the course.
Economic activities in no containment zones have started, as construction materials are being dispatched via boats through Ganga river in Sahibganj district. Shopkeepers have been instructed to maintain physical distancing norms in their shops strictly and any person not wearing face masks should not be entertained at any of the shops.
