In Jharkhand, 187 fresh cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours, seeing the biggest spike in the number of COVID19 cases detected, taking the total toll to 1330 in the state. A maximum of 59 cases were detected amongst migrant labourers from Simdega district alone yesterday. With the latest entry of Simdega in the list, four districts of the state - Ranchi, East Singhbhum, Hazaribagh and Simdega have crossed the 100 patients mark.
Principal Health Secretary Dr Nitin Madan Kulkarni told that the state expects confirmation of more
than 500 cases in the next four to five days.
With the recent trend of rise in the number of cases, the State health department had earlier predicted that the number of COVID-19 cases may touch the 1500 mark by June 15. A total of 689 cases have been reported only in the month of June.
Meanwhile, 29 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals yesterday. A total of 519 patients have recovered and 7 people have died due to Coronavirus so far.
