Jharkhand reports 53 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

In Jharkhand, the number of fresh cases has mounted to 779 in the state after 53 new cases were confirmed in the last 24  hours. Recovery rate of patients has dropped to 42 percent as cases cannot be confirmed within a stipulated time frame due to less number of COVID-19 testing centres.

Presently there is a backlog of more than 15000 samples pending at the four



COVID-19 testing labs of the state. Migrants returning to their home districts are quarantined at district centres.

While 321 patients have recovered from the viral infection, 5 people have died from this disease. Around 453 active cases are being treated at various COVID-19 hospitals and isolation centres across the state.
