31,830 new Covid -19 cases were reported in Karnataka during the last 24 hours. At the same time 10,793 people recovered from the disease and discharged from various hospitals in the State.
180 covid patients succumbed to the disease. At present 3,01,899 active covid patients are undergoing treatment across the State, among them 2,063 covid patients are in ICU. Among the new cases Bengaluru city reported with the highest number of 17,550 followed by Mysuru with 2,042, Tumakuru 1,196 and Ballari with 907 cases.

Health Minister Dr.K.Sudhakar has said that government has decided to utilize the service of 1,100 call center staff to give guidance to the Covid patients who are at home isolation.
Speaking to media in Bengaluru on Tuesday the Minister said that already 400 staffs are currently working in call centers, government has decided to hire additional staff for six months at a cost of Rs.11 crore. The Minister further said that makeshift hospital with a capacity of 2 to 3 thousand beds will be established in Bengaluru within 20 days.
