Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala confirmed five more cases of Omicron yesterday, taking the total tally of omicron cases in the State to 29. State Health Minister Veena George informed that the new variant has been confirmed in returnees from UK,Albania and Nigeria.
Mrs Veena George has urged the people to celebrate the Christmas and New Year with extreme caution abiding to strict Covid guidelines as the number of Omicron patients in
the state has increased.
Meanwhile,Kerala confirmed 2514 new COVID-19 positive cases yesterday.
The test positivity rate has also reduced to 4.51 percent at present. 54 deaths were also confirmed due to COVID yesterday, taking the total death toll to 45,861. Bringing respite, 3,427 recoveries were also reported yesterday.
