Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala confirmed 5,038 new COVID-19 positive cases on Wednesday. In all the districts, there are only less than a thousand infected people. In all, 35 deaths were also confirmed due to COVID yesterday. Bringing respite, 4,039 recoveries were also reported today. At present, over 40,000 people are undergoing covid treatment in the state.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Veena
George said that in the wake of Omicron spread in various countries, the availability of oxygen and ICU ventilator facilities in the state has been prepped up. The state at present produces 354.43 metric tons of oxygen per day. The minister confirmed that the state has become self-sufficient in oxygen availability and it also has additional reserves as well.
