Kochi: Kerala continues to report surge in Covid-19 cases as it confirmed 26,701 new positive cases on Sunday. The test positivity rate in the State stands at 17.17 percent at present. Over 1,55,543 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
74 deaths were also reported due to the infection today, taking the death toll to 21,496. Bringing respite, 28,900 recoveries were reported. At
present, 2,47,791 is the active caseload in the state.
The full weekend lockdown continues yesterday in Kerala as part of Covid control measures. Permission has been granted only for essential services. A review meeting will be chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday in which decision will be taken on further easing of the restrictions.
