Kerala records 29 new Omicron cases

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala confirms 29 new cases of Omicron yesterday in the State taking the total Omicron cases  to 181. Forty-two people under treatment recovered. At present, 139 people are undergoing treatment for omicron infection in the state.

Kerala also confirmed 2,560 new COVID-19 positive cases yesterday. 30 deaths were also confirmed due to COVID yesterday, taking the total death toll to 48,184. 2,150 recoveries were also reported yesterday. At present, 19,359 is the active  Covid caseload in the state.

Meanwhile, Covid vaccination for children



between the age group of 15 and 18 years began yesterday in the State in 551 vaccination centres across the state . Pink boards have been set up at the children's vaccination centres to quickly identify them. Detailed guidelines on the registration process and vaccination  have also been issued.

State Health Minister Veena George assured that adequate measures will be taken to complete the vaccination of children on time.  The minister also said that the response from the children and their parents towards vaccination was welcoming and positive.
