Kerala continues to report a high surge in COVID cases as it confirms 38,607 new cases yesterday. State to impose strict restrictions in the next week.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, while addressing the media yesterday, said that more strict control measures will be imposed from Tuesday to Sunday in the State as the COVID scenario worsens. "Oxygen war rooms" would be set up in the various districts to ensure the availability of oxygen in case of
emergencies.
The shootings of cinemas, TV serials and programmes have been suspended in the state till further notice. The Chief Minister urged people to voluntarily follow a "Self- Lockdown".
Meanwhile the test positivity rate in Kerala is at alarming 24.5 per cent. Forty eight deaths were also confirmed due to COVID today. Presently, over 2,80,000 active COVID cases are there in Kerala.
