Kerala reported highest surge of COVID-19 cases in a day with 416 positive cases being confirmed yesterday. Among the new cases 204 persons contracted the disease through contact which is the highest local transmission cases reported, in a day so far, in the state. The situation in the capital city Thiruvananthapuram is getting serious with 129 new positive cases among which 122 persons got the disease
through contact.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed that lockdown in the city will be extended for one more week.Triple lockdown will be continued in containment and super spread regions. Mr Vijayan said that there is no community spread yet in Thiruvananthapuram yet, but super spread of virus is confirmed in certain clusters of the district.
