Kerala reported more recoveries than new COVID cases yesterday, after a long time. As the state confirmed 885 new COVID cases yesterday, 968 persons recovered from the disease. Among the fresh cases 724 persons got the disease through contact. The state also confirmed four more deaths due to COVID taking the death toll to 54. Thiruvananthapuram continues to report highest number of COVID cases. Presently, the total active cases in Kerala is 9,371.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the first line COVID Care Centres are
being expanded across the state and over 25,000 COVID tests are being conducted in the state daily. Mr Vijayan said that a special action plan will be made to contain the super spread of virus.
The leaders from all political parties extended their full support in the State's COVID battle and the majority leaders expressed the necessity to strengthen the present restrictions in the COVID clusters and was not favoring a complete lockdown in the state presently.
