Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has directed the health department to issue proper guidelines for home isolation of COVID-19 patients. 

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the state rises to 58 thousand 181 after 1 thousand 317 new positive cases were detected in the past 24 hours. With 24 patients succumbing to the infection, the death toll in the state has risen to 1 thousand 306.

A total of 2 thousand 109 patients are currently in home isolation in various districts of the state. Additional Chief Secretary Mohammad Suleman said that instructions have been given to take samples of corona test at fever clinics in each



district so that any person can go there and get his corona test done easily. 

As per the state health bulletin, 1207 coronavirus patients were discharged from the hospitals yesterday taking the number of recovered cases in the state to 44 thousand 453. There are now 12 thousand 422 active cases in Madhya Pradesh. 

Meanwhile, forty inmates at the central jail, Jabalpur have been quarantined after they tested positive for coronavirus. These prisoners had been admitted to the jail after August 15. They were kept in isolation so that they do not come in contact with other 3,000 prisoners.
