Maharashtra logs 2,219 new Coronavirus cases

Mumbai: Maharashtra on Wednesday reported 2,219 fresh cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of infections to 65,83,896. According to the State’s Public Health Department, the number of recoveries jumped by 3,139 to reach 64,11,075; while the death toll has reached 1,39,670 with 49 more people succumbing to the infection in the past 24 hours.

The number of active cases



in Maharashtra stands at 29,555. Maharashtra’s recovery rate stands at 97.38 per cent while the case fatality rate stands at 2.12 per cent.

After a slight decline in cases, Mumbai reported 477 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of cases in Mumbai to 7,49,936. The city reported 461 recoveries and three deaths yesterday.
