Maharashtra logs 25,425 new Covid-19 cases

Mumbai: Maharashtra yesterday reported 25,425 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of infections to 76,30,606. With 36,708 recoveries during the day, the total number of recovered people has reached 71,97,001 while the death toll has reached 1,42,358 with 42 patients succumbing to the infection.

According to the state’s public health department, the number of active cases in Maharashtra stands at 2,87,397.
 
The state yesterday



reported 72 cases of Omicron, taking the total number of cases to 2,930. Out of these 1,592 patients have already recovered and have been discharged following a negative RT-PCR report.
       
Meanwhile, Mumbai has reported 1,384 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of cases in Mumbai to 10,41,747. The city reported 5,686 recoveries and 12 deaths during the day. The number of active cases stands at 18,040.
