Maharashtra logs 28,286 new Covid cases

Maharashtra on Monday reported 28,286 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of infections to 75,35,511. With 21,941 recoveries during the day, the total number of recovered people has reached 70,89,936 while the death toll has reached 1,42,151 with 36 patients succumbing to the infection.

According to the state’s public health department, the number of active cases in Maharashtra stands at 2,99,604.

The state



yesterday reported 86 cases of Omicron, taking the total number of cases to 2,845. Out of these 1,454 patients have already recovered and have been discharged following a negative RT-PCR report.

Meanwhile, Mumbai yesterday reported 1,857 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of cases in the city to 10,36,690. The city reported 503 recoveries and 11 deaths during the day. The number of active cases stands at 21,142.
