Maharashtra records 597 new coronavirus cases

Maharashtra state has recorded 597 new corona virus positive cases taking the total number of cases in state to 9915. Mumbai recorded 270 cases and the total cases in Mumbai stands at 6644 now.

State Health Minister Rajesh Tope informed that while 205 patients were discharged from hospitals, so far 1593 people have been cured across state. More from our correspondent…

26 coronavirus patients, highest in a day, died in Mumbai and 475 tested positive for the infection on Wednesday.

It took the death toll in the country's financial capital to 270 and the tally of patients jumped to 6,457 crossing the 6,000-mark.

In Pune Municipal limits, a total of 93 new cases of infection were reported in the last 24 hours taking the



city total to 1,413.

In Pimpri Chinchwad region, seven COVID-19 cases were reported.

Whereas in rural part of the district, the number has gone up to 72 with four more cases.

Nashik, Solapur, Akola and Palghar also saw considerable rise in number of Covid-19 cases.

On the other hand, online auction of turmeric has begin in Sangli. While serving purpose of social distancing, online auction is also helping turmeric farmers from losses.

Similarly, Latur APMC has sold 68,000 quintals of agricultural produce in the market yard in a week during lock-down period and farmers have earned a whoping amount of Rs 28 crore 66 lakh in just a week.
