Mumbai: Maharashtra yesterday recorded 766 new cases of COVID-19, taking the state’s tally of total cases to 66,31,297. According to the state’s public health department, 929 people recovered from the infection, taking the total number of recoveries to 64,77,379; while 19 others succumbed to the disease, taking the death toll to 1,40,766. Mumbai reported 190 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of cases in Mumbai to 7,61,670. The city reported 295 recoveries and one death yesterday. While there are no active containment zones, the city currently has 13 sealed buildings. Mumbai currently has 2561 active cases, the highest in the state; followed by Pune in 2027 and Thane at 1160.
