Mumbai: The Covid-19 deaths dropped to 287 while the infections went down to 6,727, even as 10,812 patients were discharged after full recovery from various hospitals in the State.
A day after the State logged 405 deaths and 9,974 infections in the state, Maharashtra witnessed the deaths drop by 118, while new cases went down by 3247.
Of the deaths reported on Monday, there were 101 current fatalities, while 186 were “old and hither-to unaccounted” deaths, which have been added to the state total Covid-19 toll as part of the ongoing reconciliation process.
As 10,812 patients were discharged from the hospitals across the State after full recovery, the total number of people discharged from the hospitals since the second week of March last year increased from 57,90113 to 58,00925. The recovery rate in the State rose from 95.91 pee cent to 95.99 per cent.
The total “active cases” in the state
dropped from 1,22,252 to 1,17,874. The fatality rate in the State rose from 2 per cent to 2.1 per cent.
Mumbai recorded 18 deaths and 611 infections. As a result, the Covid-19 toll in the metropolis increased from 15396 to 15,414. while the infected cases in Mumbai went up from 7,20,349 to 7,20,960.
Pune with 17,042 active cases emerged as the first in the state in terms of maximum number of “active cases” in the state, while Thane with 16.141 stood second, followed by Mumbai (12,446), Kolhapur (10,875), Sangli (9612), Satara (7662), Raigad (5561) Ratnagiri (5232) and Sindhudurg (5201).
Of the 4,12,08,361 samples sent to various laboratories across the state so far, 60,36,821 have tested positive (14.65 per cent) for COVID-19 until Monday.
Currently, 6,15,839 people are in home quarantine while 4245 people are in institutional quarantine.
