Mumbai: The daily Covid-19 deaths dropped to 105 and infections dipped to 4,365 in Maharashtra on Friday, even as 6,384 patients were discharged after full recovery from various hospitals across the State.

A day after the state logged 154 deaths and 5,225 infections, the deaths went down by 49 and infections dropped by 860. With 105 fresh fatalities reported on Monday, the total number of deaths in the state increased from 1,35,567 to 1,35,672, while the infections -- with 4,365 new cases – went up from 64,11,570 to 64,15,935.

As 6,384 patients were discharged from the hospitals across the State after full recovery, the total number of people discharged from the hospitals since the second week of March last year increased from 62,14,921 to 62,21,305.

 The recovery rate in the state rose from



96.93 per cent to 96.97 per cent.

The total “active cases” in the state dropped from 57,579 to 55,454.  The fatality rate in the state stood static at 2.11 per cent.   

Pune with 12,558 active cases emerged as the first in the state in terms of maximum number of “active cases” in the state, while Thane with 7,022 cases stood second in the state, followed by Satara (6658), Ahmednagar (5709), Sangli (5,210), Solapur (4580),  Mumbai (3077) and Kolhapur (2201).

Of the 5,19,21,798 samples sent to various laboratories across the state so far, 64,15,935 have tested positive (12.36 per cent) for COVID-19 until Friday.

Currently, 3,22,221 people are in home quarantine while 2,745 people are in institutional quarantine.
