Mumbai: The daily Covid-19 deaths dropped for the first time in the last several months to a two-digit figure on Monday, as the fatalities slid to 66 in Maharashtra on Monday, while the daily infections came down to 6,017.
A day after the state logged 180 deaths and 9000 infections, the Covid-19 situation improved as fatalities dropped to 66 and the infections came down to 6,017. With 66 deaths reported on Saturday, the total Covid-19 deaths in the state climbed from 1,27,031 to 1,27,097. Similarly, with 6,017 fresh infections, the total infections in the state climbed from 62,14,190 to 62,20,207.
As 13,051 were discharged from the hospitals across the State after full recovery, the total number of people discharged from the hospitals since the second week of March
last year increased from 59,80,350 to 59,93,401, The recovery rate in the State rose from 96.24 per cent to 96.35 per cent
The total “active cases” in the state dropped from 1,03,486 to 96,275.. The fatality rate in the state stood static at 2.04 per cent.
Mumbai recorded 14 deaths and 403 infections. As a result, the Covid-19 toll in the metropolis increased from 15,702 to 15,716, while the infected cases in Mumbai went up from 7,31,158 to 7,31,561.
Pune with 15,768 active cases emerged as the first in the state in terms of maximum number of “active cases” in the state, while Thane with 13,632 stood second, followed by Kolhapur (10,538), Mumbai (10,422), Sangli (10,014), and Satara (6566).
