Maharashtra reports 8,535 new Covid-19 cases

Maharashtra on Sunday reported 8,535 new cases of coronavirus infection, taking the state’s tally to 61,57,799. According to the state’s public health department, 6,013 patients were discharged yesterday, taking the number of recovered patients to 59,12,479.

On the other hand, the death toll rose by 156 to 125,878. The state currently has an active caseload of



1,16,165.Maharashtra’s recovery rate stands at 96.02 percent while the case fatality rate stands at 2.04 percent.

Out of 4,40,10,550 laboratory samples 61,57,799  have been tested positive (13.99 %) for COVID-19 until yesterday. Currently 5,96,279 people are in home quarantine and 4,672 people are in institutional quarantine.
