Maharashtra's COVID-19 tally rose to 3,18,695 on Monday with the addition of 8,240 new cases and with 176 news deaths - 41 of them in Mumbai - the fatality count crossed the 12,000-mark, the health department said. A total of 5,460 patients were discharged from hospitals during the day, taking the number of recoveries to 1,75,029 it said. The number of cases in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region MMR) also crossed the 2,00,00-mark on Monday, the department said, adding over 16 lakh persons have been tested for coronavirus in the state so far.
