Manipur reports 271 new Covid-19 cases

In Manipur, the rate of positivity of COVID-19 has been increasing day by day. During the past twenty four hours, 271 new positive cases including 12 personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces were confirmed in the State.

As many 74 COVID patients including 54 home isolation were discharged during the hours. The total number of recovered cases is 29764 persons and the total positive cases is 31586 The active case is 1417 and five persons expired due to COVID-19 reported in the past twenty four hours thus increasing the total fatality due to COVID-19 to 405 in the State. The



recovery rate reduced to 94.23 percent.

On the other hand, the State government has intensified the COVID-19 vaccination in Manipur. Altogether 173056 persons have been vaccinated as per the latest report from the State Health Department.

Meanwhile, the area under Greater Imphal looks deserted today due to the announcement of a Containment Zone by the State Government. It may be mentioned that the State government declared the entire area of Greater Imphal as a Containment Zone late evening yesterday.
