In Meghalaya, 44 new COVID 19 cases were detected yesterday taking the total number of active cases to 733 while four COVID-19 patients also recovered.
Director of Health Services Dr Aman War told the media last evening that out of the new cases, 40 are from East Khasi Hills district out of which 39 were civilians and one BSF personnel. One from East Jaintia Hills and three from West Garo Hills district.
Out of the four COVID-19 patients who recovered yesterday, two were from East Khasi Hills district and one each from West Jaintia Hills and East Jaintia Hills
district taking the total recovered cases to 679.
Dr War added that the state now has a total of 733 active cases of which 423 are from East Khasi Hills district, 100 from Ri-Bhoi district, 184 from West Garo Hills district, eight from North Garo Hills district, three from West Khasi Hills district, one from South West Khasi Hills district, four from West Jaintia Hills district and five from East Jaintia Hills district. With a total of 733 active cases, 679 recovered and six deceased, Meghalaya has a cumulative tally of 1,418 COVID-19 cases so far.
