In Meghalaya, 59 new COVID-19 cases were registered yesterday taking the total active cases to 1,179.
State Health Minister A L Hek said that out of the new cases, 55 cases were from East Khasi Hills district which includes nine Armed Force personnel and 46 civilians and four from Ri-Bhoi district. He further informed that nine patients also recovered during the day and the total number of recoveries stands at 789.

stands with a total of 1,976 detected cases which includes 1,179 active cases, 789 recovered and eight deceased.
Meanwhile, on the notification issued by the MHA on movement of inter and intra-state movement of goods and people, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said that the decision taken by the State Government last week to close down the entry points every first week for three months will continue.
