More than one crore 34 lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to the beneficiaries in the country so far. Union Health Ministry said that a total of eight lakh one thousand 480 doses of vaccines have been given to health care and frontline workers in the last 24 hours.
Nine State and Union Territories have vaccinated less than 60 per cent of the registered Health Care Workers. These are Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Telangana, Ladakh, Chandigarh, Nagaland, Punjab and Puducherry. The Ministry said, 13 States and UTs have vaccinated less than 40 per cent of registered frontline workers. These are Chandigarh, Nagaland, Telangana, Mizoram, Punjab, Goa, Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Manipur, Assam, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Meghalaya and Puducherry.
Meanwhile, the country's COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 97.17 per cent with recovery of more
than 12 thousand 179 patients within 24 hours. The Ministry said, more than one crore seven lakh 50 thousand patients have already recovered from this disease. Presently, the total number of active cases in the country is one lakh 55 thousand 986 which comprises only 1.41 per cent of the total positive cases.
A total of 16 thousand 577 new cases were reported in the country in the past 24 hours taking the cumulative positive cases to over one crore ten lakh. The Health Ministry said, one hundred 20 deaths were reported within 24 hours taking the toll to over one lakh 56 thousand across the country.
The Indian Council of Medical Research said that various laboratories conducted more than eight lakh 31 thousand tests of Corona virus samples during the last 24 hours and more than 21 crore 46 lakh tests have been done in the country so far.
