New Delhi: A total of 693 new confirmed COVID-19 cases have been reported during the last 24 hours taking the total numbers of confirmed cases to 4,067 in the country. Health and Family Welfare Ministry said that 292 patients have been recovered so far and total 109 deaths have been reported from across the India.
Indian Council of Medical Research has said that a total of 89,534 samples have been tested so far. ICMR has approved 136 government laboratories and three collection centres to conduct the test of Covid-19. In addition, 56 private laboratories' chains have also been given approval for the testing. 274
districts have been affected by COVID-19 virus in the country.
An advisory has been issued by ICMR regarding rapid antibody based blood tests in clusters having containment zones and in large migration gatherings and evacuees centres. This will expedite the process of contact tracing and timely treatment. ICMR in its recent advisory also cautioned that spitting in public places can increase the spread of COVID-19 virus. Hence, people are requested to refrain from consuming the smokeless tobacco products and spitting in public places during the COVID-19 epidemic.
