Bhubaneswar: Odisha's COVID-19 caseload mounted to 3,37,529 on Thursday after 81 more people tested positive for the infection, a health department official said.
The coastal state's death toll remained unchanged at 1,917 as no fresh fatality was reported since Wednesday.
Of the 81 new cases, 49 were cases of quarantine -- at home or designated centres -- and the rest were detected during contact tracing, the official here said.
The positivity rate stands at 4.02 per cent.
Sambalpur accounted for the maximum number of new cases at 14, followed by Mayurbhanj at
eight.
Currently, Odisha has 792 active cases, while 3,34,767 patients have recovered from the highly infectious disease.
Fifty-three COVID-19 patients have died due to comorbidities, according to the official.
Over 84 lakh sample tests have been conducted in the state so far, including 21,850 in the past 24 hours.
As many as 28,260 people, comprising senior citizens, health care workers, other frontline COVID-19 warriors and people in the age group of 45 to 59 years, were inoculated across the state on Wednesday, the official added.
