In Odisha, more than eleven thousand healthcare workers were vaccinated at 179 session sites across the state yesterday. The state has targeted to immunize a total of about 3.5 lakh healthcare and frontline workers by the10th of February, during the first phase of the vaccination drive.

The state reported only 70 new covid-19 infections during the last 24 hours, the number of those who recovered from the virus yesterday stood at 157-which is more than double the number of fresh

infections.

Even as the total recovery mounts to more than 3 lakh 31 thousand,  it leaves only a little over 1,000 active cases across the state as of now.

Meanwhile, the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack has reached a milestone in conducting more than 1,000 plasmapheresis procedures.

These were vital enough to save the lives of seriously ill covid patients-said the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik while congratulating the team.
