The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed one crore 90 lakh. These include over 68 lakh Health care workers who have taken the 1st dose and over 32 lakh Health care workers who have taken the 2nd dose, over 62 lakh Front Line workers who have taken 1st dose and over one lakh Front Line workers who have taken the 2nd dose.
The Health Ministry said that over 21 lakh beneficiaries more than 60 years old and over three lakh 13 thousand beneficiaries aged 45 and above with specific co-morbidities
have been inoculated with vaccine doses. On the 49th day of nationwide Covid-19 vaccination, yesterday a total of ten lakh 34 thousand 672 vaccine doses were given.
The countrywide vaccination drive was rolled out on 16th January this year and vaccination of the Frontline Workers started from 2nd February. The next phase of COVID-19 vaccination has commenced from 1st March for those who are over 60 years of age and for people aged 45 and above with specified co-morbid conditions.
