One patient of COVID 19 from Punjab has died yesterday according to media bulletin issued by the Punjab Government at Chandigarh. The 70 year old patient returned from Germany via Italy on 7th March and was under home quarantine.
He reported to a Government Hospital on morning of 18th March complaining of chest pain and his samples were found positive after testing by PGI Chandigarh. According to hospital the cause of death was cardiac arrest.
He was already suffering from Diabetes and Hypertension. According to a public
spokesperson, close contacts and family members of the patient are under surveillance and sampling of family members is being done.
The second patient reported positive for corona earlier is a resident of Italy. He was tracked at Amritsar Airport and was admitted at Govt Medical College, Amritsar.
A public spokesperson said that in Punjab, 124 symptomatic cases have been tested so far and 113 of them have been found negative. Reports of 9 people is test awaited.
