Jeddah: Saudi Arabia confirmed one new COVID-19-related death on Thursday, raising the total number of fatalities to 9,054.
Saudi health authorities confirmed 114 new cases reported in the Kingdom in the previous 24 hours, meaning 751,518 people have now contracted the disease. Of the current cases, 88 remain in critical condition.
The Health Ministry announced that 303 patients had recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom to 736,316.
The ministry announced that 6,148 COVID-19 cases were still active, adding that 12,929 PCR tests were made, bringing the total number
of tests to 41,631,441.
More than 63 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered since the Kingdom’s immunization campaign started. Nearly 25 million people have been fully vaccinated.
Globally, more than 496 million cases of COVID-19 have been reported worldwide since the outbreak of the pandemic, and over 6 million people have died after contracting the virus.
Infections have been reported in 225 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019. More than 432 million people have recovered from the virus.
